Happy Dogs and Parents at Paws ‘n Play

The weather was perfect. The wagging tails and doggie smiles covered the Tenino city park on Sunday, April 19th. Pets and their parents played and learned some new lessons. The 2nd Annual Paws ‘n Play pet play day was a complete success!

The City of Tenino No Kill Shelter fund received over $2400 in donations from the event’s silent auction. Our goal for this fund is to help maintain the current no kill shelter in Tenino and to eventually build a new, larger no kill shelter in Tenino to replace the present shelter in a few years. As the city gradually increases its population, there is a need for this shelter as a safe haven for those pets who are abandoned or neglected. Alpha Pet Supply is committed to achieving this goal of a new no kill shelter building in Tenino city.

Our booths were both educational and fun. Every booth donated an item or service for the silent auction. A big thank you from Alpha Pet Supply to all the vendors and donation supporters who made this day a success!

Deb from Doggie DuRite was our traveling dog trainer in the park; she answered questions, offered tips for training and assisted with some behavior issues. Ann Dillon of Dillon’s Animal Sitting in Tenino offered information on her business of animal and pet sitting at your home. Bentley, our local pit bull ambassador, brought his mom Bridget MacDonald to educate people on the positive views of the misunderstood pit bull breed. Carol Ptak and her group from Timberland Valley Dog Fancier’s Association in Rochester brought a truck load of agility equipment for dogs to jump, crawl and climb. Sue and Becky from K9 Scooters NW from Rainier hooked dogs up to scooters for pulling instruction. Alpaca wool was spun into yarn at the Evergreen Valley Alpaca booth. Wellness and Eagle pet food products were distributed by Colleen at the WellPet booth. Wolf education and information was presented by Wendy from Wolf

Haven. Sun hats and pet carriers for dogs were popular items at Christine and Ted’s Stubby Tails from Yelm. Elaine Waterman and Diane Jacob sold beautiful plants at their booth for the Pet Emergency Fund. Jacqui from Four Paws Animal Rehabilitation in Tumwater information on pet water therapy, ultrasound, exercise programs and home programs. Lewis County Animal Food Bank booth introduced the animal food bank available in Lewis County. Andrea from Positively Pampered Pets in Rochester offered grooming tips and fun for dogs. Brooke from Northpoint Trading offered information on Orijen and Acana pet foods.

We would like to thank all of those who donated to the silent auction. You made this auction a success and we greatly appreciate all your support.
